The Community Film Project recognizes that aspiring filmmakers need a simple method of organizing the various members of the filmmaking process. We believe that there is a huge pool of talent that is undiscovered, and disconnected from others with complimentary skills. We facilitate relationships between producers, directors, editors, screenwriters, actors, cinematographers, musicians, and other members of movie-making experience.
Respectable feature filmmaking is no longer limited to Hollywood: with a shoestring production budget, a thirst for cinematic knowledge, and a talented cast and crew, the independent filmmaker can create a motion picture with a production value that far exceeds the budget. Computer based editing bays and digital video cameras have put the dream of making the great American movie within the grasp of the passionate, ultra-low budget, independent filmmaker.
The Community Film Project members share a love for movies, a passion for creative expression, and a vested interest in producing opportunities within our own community. We contribute to the cultural life of this region, and hope to improve opportunities for others to do so. The CFP was founded in 2004 to harness these passions, to bring these talents and resources together, and watch more films as they're made. Please join us.
